The Relationship between the Original Family Experience, Self-Awareness, Counter Transference Management Skills and Counselor Development

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the original family experience, self-awareness, counter transference management skills and counselor development. Expecially, this study examined the mediated moderating effects of self-awareness and counter transference management skills through level of taking counsel as a counselor on the relationship between the original family experience and counselor development. The subjects was the 189 people who are private, public and school counseling centers in Seoul and Gyeong-gi province. The result was the following. first, counselor development level was positively related with transference management skills, low social anxiety of self-awareness. A mediating role of counter transference management skills regarding the relationship between the original family experience and counselor development was found from a test of mediation with regression analysis. Also, the interaction effect analysis verified the statistically significant influence of the original family experience interacting with the level of taking counsel as a counselor on social anxiety. Practice and implications as well as further research were discussed for effective counselor education.
